Description

The amount of graffiti in Downtown Richmond - the Shockhoe Slip area being just one example - is alarming and very discouraging and frankly embarrasing to people such as me who live here. I think that the City is making a sincere effort to remove graffiti from public property, but this is also a law enforcement issue. There seems to be a group of people who think they can write whatever they want, whenever they want, wherever they want - and get away with it without consequence. I know that the police have many competing priorities and can not be everywhere all at once. But I would like to know that the Richmond City government views this rampant graffiti as a quality of life issue that warrants some type of law enforcement investigation/ response. Thank you.
