What we store
If you sign up for alerts, we store your email address, the neighborhoods you selected, and which kinds of alerts you asked for. That's it. We don't track pages you visit, we don't have analytics on the site, and we don't have user accounts beyond the email verification code.
What we do with it
We use your email to send you the alerts you asked for, and to send the six-digit verification code when you sign in. We don't sell or share your email or preferences with anyone, and we don't use them for anything other than sending you alerts.
Two services see your email when we send mail: Postmark, which delivers the alert emails, and Neon Auth, which sends the sign-in code. Both are standard transactional email providers and we use them only for that purpose.
Where the data in the alerts comes from
Every record in an alert email is from a public City of Richmond data source. We link each record back to the City's own page for it. We don't add anything we collected ourselves, and we don't include data about you in the alerts.
How to stop the alerts
Sign in at the subscribe page and uncheck the alert types you no longer want.
