Report Illegal Dumping

Description

Every day new trash arrives on Glenwood Ave in Richmond. If you look over the railing you'll see that there are years and years worth of tires and trash that have been dumped. I bought a trash-picker at Lowes and tried to clean it up personally, but it is a never ending stream. There was a toilet dumped on Christmas Day and a mattress dumped on new year's day. Happy Holidays! There is still a lawnmower and other large items that have melted into the surrounding foliage. The land is undeveloped because it's steep and there is a few hundred feet without a street light. Wjen we go for walks we often find that the trash has blown down intonout yard. It appears and multiplies every day. There was what seemed like 1,000 lottery tickets at one point. I cleaned some of the trash up and found two people's mail. I called one of them and discovered that that piece of opened mail had never made it to her. She had never seen it but knew by the handwriting that it was from her pastor. The pastor confirmed that she sent it, but it was stolen before it got there.. then dumped on Glenwood Ave. So there are criminals dumping stolen goods on our street, to say the least. We need a sign like they have at Jefferson Park that lets them know they will be fined thousands of dollars if they get caught. Then we need a camera so we can catch them. I will help in any way I can. Please help us. We are drowning in other people's trash.

  I called the victim and his voice mail isn't set up to accept messages. I also sent the complaint to PDR Inspector Charles Rose and Milton Jackson with DPW

  Inspector Charles Rose is sending a UNOV to the LLC that owns the property where the Tires are on. DPW removed the Toilet and the mattress from the site .
