Description

I want to report a years long littering of my neighborhood by the Richmond Time Dispatch who sends people in cars to indiscriminately throw advertisements onto the street/sidewalk/yards. Today at approximately 2 p.m. a private car (I have the license plate) went down the block (I pursued down 3200 and 3300 blocks before the car was out of sight) indiscriminately throwing the pictured advertisements, which are wrapped in plastic. I went behind the car and collected this pile from less than 2 blocks. These ads litter the streets weekly, rot in the streets, are ignored by residents, and I've made it a habit of picking them up and throwing them away on behalf of my neighbors, but the ads/plastic gets into sewers and gets buried under leaves the city vacuums up. My neighbors and I have complained to the RTD and asked them to remove us from their subscription lists, but the cars just drive down the road and indiscriminately throw. I proudly subscribe to the Financial Times of London (and gladly support the local resident that brings it to my door each morning) and the digital Washington Post but the RTD is, to me, just the folks that litter up my neighborhood streets with trash to juice subscription numbers. This is wrong. Please speak to the RTD and let them know this must end. None of these are needed/wanted in the 3200 or 3300 block of Stuart and the RTD is littering. Their system of allowing residents to opt-out is nonexistent for all practical purposes.
