Thank you for reporting your concern. Here’s where things stand: Site inspection completed: Our Right-of-Way (ROW) team visited the location and confirmed an existing gravel driveway that appears to have been in place for over 10 years, it that appears to have been recently top-dressed. We also noted some loose gravel near the edge of pavement. The City’s Water Resources group reviewed the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Area (CBPA) layers and advised that a gravel driveway is treated as impervious surface under the CBPA. They also identified a structure within the 100-year floodplain, which is not allowed without proper authorization. Water Resources will send a notice to the property owner regarding these encroachments and the steps required to achieve compliance.
