Description
I would like to request that the intersection of Grayland & McCloy be turned into a 4-way stop. There are speed bumps on McCloy past the intersection, but cars coming over the bridge do so at speeds that make it dangerous for pedestrians. I live on Grayland and often have to jump back in the crosswalk to avoid injury. This is worsened on the weekend, when the streets are flooded with visitors to Carytown who are unfamiliar with traffic patterns.

- Staff · July 28, 2026The Department of Public Works (DPW) must perform an engineering study in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. All-all-way stops must meet the warrants in the MUTCD. The intersection of McCloy St and Grayland Ave does not meet the traffic requirements of the MUTCD all-way stop warrant. The average speed on McCloy St on the south side of Grayland Ave (Downtown Expressway bridge) measured 18mph. McCloy St on the north side of Grayland Ave had an average speed of 16mph.
