Description

Blake is an entrance for Swansboro Elementary School as well as the Swansboro Public Pool. There is a speed issue along this strip that would benefit from a traffic calming speed hump. Blake has street parking on both sides that is very busy during the school day. Lots of pedestrians crossing this street to get to the pool and school. Blake is used as a frequent cut through from hull to Midlothian which causes lots of speeders getting to their next destinations with no ownership to the community

The average speed on E. Blake St between Hull St and Midlothian Turnpike ranged between 16mph and 19mph. One speed table exists now plus a curve warning sign with a 15mph speed advisory speed. No additional speed tables are planned at this time.
