Description
Japanese knotweed is growing quickly and will be over the southside of Franklin Street between 29th & 30th streets very soon. Japanese knotweed is a highly invasive, fast-growing plant, known for its bamboo-like stems, spade-shaped leaves, which forms dense thickets that can damage property and outcompete native vegetation. It spreads aggressively through underground rhizomes, making it extremely difficult to eradicate. It must be managed with persistent cutting and herbicides.
