A field inspection of the location was conducted by the Department of Public Works. The inspection confirmed that an electrical charging cord was running across the public sidewalk in order to charge a vehicle parked along the street. Although a protective cover had been placed over the cord, the installation still extended across the pedestrian travel path within the public right-of-way. Based on these findings, the condition has been determined to be an unauthorized obstruction within the public right-of-way. The property owner will be issued a Notice of Violation requiring removal of the cord and associated materials from the sidewalk area. The property owner has been given a specified timeframe to correct the issue. The City will continue to monitor the location to ensure compliance. We appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention and helping us maintain safe and accessible sidewalks for the community.
