The Department of Public Works must perform an engineering study in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before proposing an all-way stop. This is a federal publication that applies to all streets open to public travel. Warrants in the MUTCD must be met. The intersection of Idlewood Ave and S. Pine St does not meet the traffic conditions set forth in the MUTCD for an all-way stop. “Stop for pedestrian” signs that were placed in the middle of the street at many strategic intersections in the city are no longer being installed at this time due to the many sign knockdowns. Idlewood Ave and S. Pine St has pedestrian crosswalks on all intersection legs.
