Comments
- Staff · February 5, 2026Thank you for bringing this sidewalk condition to our attention. We understand your concern regarding pedestrian safety, particularly given the location and surrounding foot traffic. Under the City of Richmond Code, property owners are responsible for removing snow and ice from sidewalks adjacent to their property within the required timeframe after snowfall ends. This requirement applies to vacant commercial properties as well. At this time, City inspection staff are fully engaged in snow emergency operations focused on roadway safety. Your concern has been documented, and the location has been flagged for follow-up inspection once snow operations allow. If the sidewalk is found to be out of compliance, appropriate enforcement or corrective action will be initiated. We appreciate you taking the time to report this issue and for your patience as crews continue to address weather-related conditions citywide.
