Description

Crossing Cowardin Ave here on foot is very difficult and dangerous. There are GRTC bus stops and convenience store in the area. A "No U-Turn" sign on the turn lanes would help pedestrians. I have been almost hit by vehicles coming from behind me (U-Turning) while trying to cross this road.

    Cowardin Ave at Perry St is a straight street with good intersection sight distance. DMV crash records for the latest eight full years of records (1.1.17-12.31.24) did not show any reported pedestrian crashes at the intersection. A No U-turn sign is not planned at this time. Safe pedestrian crossings are provided on Cowardin Ave at Semmes Ave and at Bainbridge St with crosswalks and pedestrian signals.
