Description

We have discussed this intersection multiple times in the last ten years. We need to know if DPW can move forward with an all-way stop with high vis crosswalks or if it needs to be legislated. Thank you.

The Department of Public Works must perform an engineering study in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. This is a federal publication that applies to all streets open to public travel. McCloy St as it intersects with Maplewood Ave does not meet the MUTCD traffic volume requirements for an all-way stop. Crosswalks exist on the west leg of Maplewood Ave and on the north leg of McCloy St.
