Description
The intersection of Cutshaw & Blacker is extremely unsafe: no 4-way stop, no sidewalks, and heavy cut-through traffic at high speeds. Drivers often treat it as a 4-way stop, causing confusion and near misses. It’s also a designated school bus stop where large groups of children gather daily. Families with young kids live nearby, and the risk of a serious accident is high. A 4-way stop is urgently needed to slow traffic and protect pedestrians before tragedy occurs.

Comments
- Staff · January 6, 2026Cityworks ID: 574018
- Staff · January 7, 2026The Department of Public Works must perform an engineering study in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. This is a federal publication that applies to all streets open to public travel. Commonwealth Ave as it intersects with Cutshaw Ave does not meet the MUTCD traffic volume requirements for an all-way stop.
