Dear Citizen, Thank you for reaching out regarding the traffic signals on Main Street at 12th Street and 13th Street. The traffic signals at these intersections are operating as designed and were recently re-timed as part of the Citywide Signal Retiming Project. The signal timing was developed based on traffic data, field observations, and established engineering standards to improve overall traffic progression and safety along the corridor. Currently, both intersections are operating at acceptable Levels of Service (LOS), which indicates that traffic flow is functioning within industry standards during peak and off-peak periods. Adhering to the posted speed limits is important, as the signal coordination is optimized for vehicles traveling at the designated speeds. Traveling significantly above or below the speed limit can result in encountering additional red signals. We appreciate your feedback and will continue to monitor operations to ensure the system performs as intended. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
