Description
Vehicles traveling from Seventh Street to toward the train tracks routinely get stuck on the tracks. Temporary repairs, such as gravel dumped in between the tracks are woefully inadequate. Last week a group of fellow passbyers saw a man stuck on the tracks and we had to lift the back of his vehicle off of the tracks in order to get him to safety. Also, it is difficult to see if a vehicle is approaching from Hospital Street when making a left from Seventh Street.

- Staff · November 14, 2025DPW is familiar with the traffic safety concerns at the intersection of Hospital St and N. 7th St at the CXS at-grade railroad crossing. This includes meeting with the Federal Railway Administration and many others to obtain a grant to install a traffic signal and roadway access management in the immediate area. The traffic signal design is underway.
