Description

Motorist speeding here makes it dangerous to use the crosswalk. I was nearly hit by speeding cars crossing the road. There should be speed bumps or raised crosswalks

    DMV has no reported pedestrian crashes between 1.1.20 and 12.31.24 on Brookland Park Blvd between Richmond Henrico Turnpike and the roundabout at Six Points. Fronting Hotchkiss Park crosswalks are provided at Dunn Ave, Alpine Ave and at Letcher Ave. Also, pedestrian crossing warning signs are present in both directions. The City Fire Marshall does not support speed tables on Brookland Park Blvd because it is classified as an urban minor arterial, carries 7,500 vehicles a day and is a strategic route for emergency vehicles. DPW shared vehicle speed data at key spots along Brookland Park Blvd with a City Police Lieutenant for enforcement strategies.
