Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. The Department of Public Works Right of Way Division investigated your report regarding the dumpster blocking the alley near 18 S. 22nd Street. Our inspection confirmed that the alley is part of the public right of way. The contractor responsible has been directed to relocate the dumpster to their permitted on-street location in accordance with their approved Work in Street Permit (WISP). They were also instructed to maintain: Clear access at the alley entrance, Unobstructed fire egress for 2200 E. Cary Street, and An open ADA-accessible route at the rear exit of 2222 E. Cary Street. Follow-up verification is being conducted to ensure compliance and documentation of clear access. We appreciate your vigilance in helping keep the public right of way safe and accessible for all residents. Please don’t hesitate to contact 311 again if further obstructions occur at this location.
