Description
cars fly from intersection of Berkshire/Dover and then there is no stop sign until intersection of Dover/Canterbury (0.6 miles) or Marston Lane (0.9 miles). This is compounded by both Agecroft Hall and Virginia House in the 4300 Block of Sulgrave and crowds from their events. Pedestrians and bikers (often youth) are at major risk. We need stop signs in various points along Sulgrave (instersection of Avon/Sulgrave and Clovelly/Sulgrave specifically).

- Staff · September 23, 2025The Department of Public Works must perform an engineering study in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. This is a federal publication that applies to all streets open to public travel. An engineering study was performed in accordance with the MUTCD. The Berkshire Rd / Avon Rd / Sulgrave Rd intersection does not meet the MUTCD traffic volume requirements for an all-way stop. There were also no reported crashes here for the latest eight-year period (1.1.17 – 12.31.24). The intersection of Sulgrave Rd and Clovelly Rd also does not meet the MUTCD traffic volume requirements for an all-way stop. There were also no reported crashes here for the latest eight-year period (1.1.17 – 12.31.24).
