Comments
- Staff · September 21, 2025Cityworks ID: 567107
- Staff · September 22, 2025The Department of Public Works must perform engineering studies in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing a traffic signal. The intersection of Broad St and Lafyette St / Belmont on Broad does not meet the necessary warrants in the MUTCD for a traffic signal. The existing traffic signals at Kent Rd and at Malvern Ave should provide some gaps for traffic leaving Lafyette St / Belmont on Broad. The Broad St outside curb lane is a no parking lane so there shouldn’t be an issue with intersection sight distance unless a bus is loading / unloading riders.
