Description
Could a light-up pedestrian crossing sign be installed at this intersection -- one that has a button to push that activates flashing lights when a pedestrian needs to cross the street? Cars go well over the 25mph speed limit here, especially during the morning commute and rarely stop for pedestrians in the crosswalk

- Staff · September 11, 2025A ‘light-up pedestrian crossing warning’ is a capital improvement and not in the adopted FY26 City Budget. The average speed on Franklin St approaching Ryland St measured 24mph in the 25mph speed zone. DMV had no reported pedestrian crashes for the latest eight-year period (1.1.17 – 12.31.24) at the intersection. Crosswalks are marked on each intersection leg.
