Description
We need traffic calming on Dock Street at the intersection of Pear Street by the Great Shiplock Park. You can't see vehicles coming downhill from the east going west when you are on Pear St. trying to walk across Dock St to the Capital Trail. We could use a speed bump or a pedestrian crosswalk beacon like those farther west on Dock St to give pedestrians a safer way to cross.

Comments
- Staff · September 4, 2025Cityworks ID: 566074
- Staff · September 9, 2025The average speed on Dock St eastbound and westbound approaching Pear St measured 26mph and 28mph, respectively in the 30mph speed zone. Speed tables are not planned. Pedestrian crossing warning signs are now on Dock St in both directions upstream of approaching Pear St. A pedestrian crossing beacon is a capital improvement and not in the adopted FY26 City Budget.
