Description
A set of new stop signs is desparately needed due to construction of a zero lot line building at this intersection. This intersection was already dangerous with speeding cars, three roads intersecting, and several crashes. It now it is impossible to see around the building without sitting in Idlewood waiting to be hit. A stop sign was promised as a condition of zoning approval but has not been added.

- Staff · September 8, 2025The Department of Public Works must perform an engineering study in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. This is a federal publication that applies to all streets open to public travel. An engineering study was performed in accordance with the MUTCD. The Grayland Ave and Stafford Ave intersection does not meet the MUTCD traffic volume requirements for an all-way stop. DMV had no reported crashes for the latest eight-year period (1.1.17 – 12.31.24) at the intersection of Grayland Ave/Stafford Ave/Idlewood Ave. An engineer will field review and determine the intersection sight distance at Grayland Ave and Stafford Ave. Also, this request was forwarded to the CPW Chief of Construction and Inspections to investigate.
