Description
There's a crosswalk here, but drivers constantly exceed the speed limit on Dock Street, making crossing the road difficult and risky. There's a blink curve right before this crosswalk, and it's extremely dangerous for pedestrians to cross. Someone recently crashed into and destroyed a sign/post (photo attached). At the very least, the City needs to add pedestrian crossing signage for vehicles traveling toward S. 14th St. However, there really should be flashing lights at this crosswalk. Blind curve*

Comments
- Staff · August 25, 2025Cityworks ID: 565352
- Staff · August 27, 2025The average speed on Dock St between 15th St and 17th St measured 23 mph in the 25mph zone. DPW will plan to adjust the pedestrian warning signs towards 14th St as requested. Flashing lights are a capital expense and not in the adopted FY26 City Budget for this area.
