Description

This intersection approaches Albert Hill Middle School and the main route for students walking and cycling to and from school. Concerns about School Zone signage in the vicinity- does it meet compliance? More visibility for cross walk and bike lane, flashing school zone signs, insufficient bike lane markings at Patterson and Kensington are all needed. Also advance delayed vehicle signal change to allow advance crossing for pedestrians/cyclists.

The intersection of Kensington Avenue, Patterson Avenue, and Thompson Street needs to be simplified to better manage speeds, operations, and safety. A feasibility study is required for this this important, multi-approach intersection to determine how to improve the intersection for all road users based on proven Vision Zero techniques and the City’s Better Streets Manual. The Department is seeking funding for a feasibility study, design, and implementation.
