Description

This is the third request and these keep getting deleted. Corner of grayland and south Stafford is extremely dangerous due to the new building on the corner. The corner is blind and a sped hump is desperately needed. Please help prevent a serious situation.

Grayland Ave and Stafford Ave. - Crashes / traffic calming ----DMV had no reported crashes at this intersection for the latest four-year period (1.1.21 – 12.31.24). The average speed on Grayland Ave between Davis Ave and Addison St measured 26 mph in the 25mph zone. Traffic calming is not planned. -All-way stop ----DPW must perform engineering studies in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. The MUTCD conditions are mainly about a combination of traffic on the free flow street and the stopped street. This is basically how the MUTCD warrant works: - The traffic volumes along the free flow street (major street) and the stopped street (minor street) must be at a certain level for each hour for eight hours of a weekday to meet the requirements of the MUTCD all-way stop warrants. o Major street minimum requirement (total of both approaches) = 300 or more vehicles an hour. o Minor street minimum requirement (total of both approaches) = 200 or more vehicles an hour. - Both traffic conditions must be met. All-way stops are not currently planned since Grayland Ave and Stafford Ave does not meet the MUTCD traffic volume requirements. FYI - I emailed a supervisor in the City’s Dept of Citizen Service & Response that you mentioned requests being deleted.
