Description

There is a crosswalk from 413 Stuart Circle to the car garage at 410 which is used by the condo owners at Monument One as well as the employees in the commercial building. The current signs are difficult to see not only because of trees but because they are not placed right. We feel we need one that would be in the middle of the road next to the crosswalk that would be easily seen by drivers. Better yet would be signs with flashing lights. We all feel unsafe crossing there.

Crosswalk on Stuart Circle at Lombardy Place. The DMV crash database for the latest eight full years (1.1.17– 12.31.24) did not show any reported pedestrian crashes near this crosswalk. I understand that “yield to pedestrian” signs or “stop for pedestrian” signs that were placed in the middle of the street at strategic intersections are no longer being installed at this time due to the many sign knockdowns. Flashing lights are a capital expense and not in the adopted FY26 City Budget. Field staff will plan to field review for sign placement.
