Description
Please please please can we get a 4 way stop, stop light, or any traffic calming measure at this intersection? Yet another horrible car accident occured here yesterday morning (8.19.25) because cars cannot see oncoming traffic and cars are traveling at too fast of speed down North / Hazlehurst

- Staff · August 22, 2025DPW must perform engineering studies in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop or a traffic signal. The intersection of North Ave / Hazelhurst Ave / Pilots Lane does not meet the MUTCD conditions for an all-way stop or a traffic signal. A No Parking zone was established to enhance intersection sight distance for traffic heading north from the North St stopped traffic. This intersection also has ‘intersection ahead’ warning signs on the free-flow street and ‘stop ahead’ signs on the stopped streets. DPW passed your RVA311 request to a City Police Lieutenant for enforcement furnishing him with recent speed study data.
