Description
It is a bi-directional alley and the dumpster and limited traffic to one lane resulting with cars facing each other trying to get in or out of the alley. It is a high traffic alley and limiting it to one lane is dangerous for vehicle traffic and pedestrians.

- Staff · August 20, 2025Thank you for bringing your concerns regarding the dumpster placement in the alley at 900 E Cary St to our attention. Our inspector visited the site and confirmed that a dumpster is located in the alley near 10th and E. Main Streets. Based on current observations, vehicles have been able to travel in and out of the alley without significant obstruction. We are in the process of verifying permit information to confirm that the placement is authorized and compliant with right-of-way requirements. If any corrective action is needed, we will coordinate with the responsible party to ensure pedestrian and vehicle safety is maintained. We appreciate your assistance in reporting this matter and will continue to monitor the location.
