Description
The intersection of S and N 27th would benefit from curb extension. First this is a school bus stop and just this morning two kids were nearly hit by a speeding car not paying attention. Additionally, there have been countless T-bone accidents at this intersection. The issue is speeding down S street. Please help improve this intersection before someone is injured due to reckless drivers in the area.

- Staff · August 20, 2025Curb extensions at the intersection of S St and N. 27th are capital improvements and not in the latest adopted city budget. I forwarded your request to the Department of Public Works’ Capital Improvement Plan Coordinator for consideration in the next Capital Improvement Plan. The DMV crash database for the latest eight full years (1.1.17– 12.31.24) show two reported crashes. The average speed samples on S St between 25th St and 28th St measured 17mph. The speed samples are in general compliance with the 25-mph speed for residential streets and traffic calming measures are not planned at this time.
