Description
Brookland Park Boulevard is a heavily trafficked street with lots of pedestrian and bikers. Cars fly on this road (its 25mph) but most people are going much faster. It’s difficult to cross the street, especially with young kids. Crosswalks were painted at some streets but that doesnt make people slow down. Can anything be done to help slow down traffic? Can pedestrian crossing lights be installed to make it safer?

- Staff · August 15, 2025Flashing lights are a capital expense and not in the adopted FY26 City Budget. The City Fire Marshall does not support speed tables on Brookland Park Blvd because it is classified as an urban minor arterial, carries around 7500 vehicles a day and is a strategic route for emergency vehicles.
