Description
After the release of the Vision Zero Citywide Speed Data map, it is abundantly clear the 600 block of N. 23rd Street requires a safety measure to slow vehicles down. Data reflects slower traffic in the 500 and 700 blocks of N. 23rd Street, thankfully due to a speed hump in the 700 block and the traffic "circle" exiting/entering the 500 block at Jefferson Avenue. Unfortunately, traffic speeds only increase in the 600 block, much like a bell curve; and, only increase again in the 800 block. Additionally, UrbanSDK and previous request responses acknowledged the data is derived from connected vehicles, which seems to imply smart cars and vehicles utilizing Bluetooth and or GPS. If vehicles are not smart, connected, or utilizing some form of connection (i.e. not allowing app tracking) then how is this capturing all speed data without other or older methods like speed strips and car counters? If a speed hump is cost prohibitive, please consider DPW000192591, & "reducing" road width.
