Description

Requesting speed tables along the 700 and 600 blocks of S Second St between the Belvidere Bridge and Byrd St. With the new ampitheater, there is a high level of pedestrian and bicycle traffic and cars coming off and heading for the Belvidere Bridge routinely speed and drive recklessly.

    The average speed on S. 2nd St between E. Byrd St and the Lee Bridge overpass measured 25 mph. A bike lane exists between Spring St and the Lee Bridge area. S. 2nd St is also functionally classified as an Urban Minor Arterial carrying around 3,000 vehicles a day and a strategic route for emergency vehicles. Speed tables are not currently planned.
