Description

There is a lot of traffic on North Ave near the North Ave Branch Library and lots of children trying to cross that street with their parents and caretakers to access the library. Cars do not slow down. Sometimes we wait quite a while before finally being able to cross the street. It has gotten more and more dangerous to walk across. I would like to request a pedestrian light at the intersection of North Ave and E. Essex for everyone’s safety. Thank you so much.

The latest eight years of DMV crash data (1.1.17– 12.31.24) did not reveal any reported pedestrian crashes at North Ave and Essex St. A pedestrian signal is a capital improvement and are not in the latest City Budget. Crosswalks exist now.
