Description
Another close call today, came within inches of being hit by a turning car while crossing Semmes Ave on foot at W 21st St. The city has been warned multiple times about the danger at this intersection. PLEASE DO SOMETHING to make this intersection safer for pedestrians. Someone is going to be killed or injured here. At this point all I can hope for is that it is not a member of my family or a close friend.

- Staff · August 5, 2025A crosswalk will not be installed here due to the gap that is currently available for people to cross due to the signal upstream. There is also a recently installed signal downstream at Semmes Ave/ Fire Station 17. Improvements to this intersection such as better visibility and increased signage will be addressed with the Department's upcoming Pedestrian Master Plan.
