Description
3400 block of North Ave has nice bumpouts and a white line to designate the border between street parking and the road. We need the same on the 3000, 3100, 3200, & 3300 blocks. Drivers need to be able to see the edge of the road. This will reduce the amount of people having their mirrors taken off by buses and cars. This will help people to stop parking up on the sidewalk because they are afraid their car will get hit. ***At least paint a while line down the west side of North Ave***

- Staff · July 25, 2025The DMV crash database for the last three full years (1.1.22– 12.31.24) on North Ave between Brookland Park Blvd and Ladies Mile Rd showed two reported ‘sideswipe same direction’ crashes. (One crash in 2023 and one in 2024 for this ½ mile section.) This is the type of crash that may support the installation of white edge lines. Given the crash history, the alignment of North Ave and the existing centerline DPW is not currently planning to install white edge lines on North Ave between Brookland Park Blvd and Ladies Mile Rd.
