Description
The previous request by someone else was marked complete, but it was not. There is still need for an additional stop sign here to either make this a 3-way intersection or at least a two way intersection so that traffic on Ellen Rd have to yield or stop to make the left onto Rosedale Dr/Boulevard Way to prevent accidents/traffic conflicts.

- Staff · July 9, 2025The June 30, 2025 RVA311 request on Ellen Rd (DPW000207827) follows: Problem Description: Please evaluate intersection between Ellen rd, Rosedale ave, and Boulevard w. Need stop sign on Ellen rd if desiring to turn onto Boulevard w due to limited sight; What kind of sign is it? Stop sign; The June 30, 2025 response follows: Boulevard West stops at Ellen Rd/Rosedale Ave. DMV had no reported crashes for the latest eight-year period (1.1.17 – 12.31.24) at this intersection. DPW must perform engineering studies in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. The intersection of Boulevard West, Ellen Rd and Rosedale Ave does not meet the MUTCD traffic requirements for an all-way stop.
