Description

Please place yield to pedestrian signs so that people heading north on 21st street, taking a left onto Broad St., will watch for crossing pedestrians. We have had multiple instances where adults and children walking across Broad Street at the intersection have almost been struck by vehicles that fail to yield to pedestrians when drivers are turning onto Broad Street. This is a very dangerous intersection.

DMV crash records do not show any reported pedestrian crashes for the last eight years (1.1.17 – 12.31.24) at the intersection of Broad St and 21st St. “Yield to pedestrian” signs or “stop for pedestrian” signs that were placed in the middle of the street at strategic intersections are no longer being installed at this time due to the many sign knockdowns. Crosswalks and pedestrian Walk signals exist on all legs at Broad St and 21st St.
