Description

Add stop signs for Hanover Ave traffic at Rowland St or a speed table west of Rowland to slow traffic along this busy pedestrian corridor. There is an existing speed table on Stuart Ave, west of Rowland St and stop signs on Grove Ave at Rowland. Similar measures on Hanover would create continuity.

DPW must perform engineering studies in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. The intersection of Hanover Ave and Rowland St does not meet the traffic requirements of the MUTCD for all-way stops. The average speed on Rowland St near Hanover Ave is 12mph. The blocks in this area measure about 400’ between stop signs. Speed tables are not planned.
