Description
We would love an installation of speed bumps or speed humps all along Hanover Ave. There are many families with young children present, especially in the 3300 block that would definitely benefit. This should pose no problems to traffic flow, as the VMFA impedes Hanover Ave's use as a main thoroughfare. Thank you for your consideration!

- Staff · May 30, 2025The focused approach on speed management in the City’s Neighborhood Traffic Management Program first considers the distance of a free flow street of at least 1200’ in length in a tangent section without traffic signals, existing traffic calming measures or stopped conditions on the major street. Hanover Ave between Thompson St and Sheppard St measures about 3,100 and motorists stop at Thompson St, Nansemond St, Roseneath Rd, Tilden St, Cleveland St, Belmont Ave and Sheppard St. So, motorists stop about every 500’. Speed tables are not currently planned.
