Description

We are in dire need of speed bumps down 4th ave from Magnolia up to Brookland Park ave we have had several hit and run and one just recently in the 200 block rear ended a parked car and kept going. Speeding is almost common place for vehicles of all kinds from cars ,bikes , 4 wheelers, dirt bikes etc, and even drag racing because there is nothing to slow them down. Its only a matter of time that this can end a Tragedy or someone getting seriously hurt and I have asked for this before.

4th Ave between Magnolia St and Brookland Park Blvd (about 1700’) has the following traffic controls: - Traffic signals at Magnolia St and at Brookland Park Blvd. - All-way stops at Pulaski St and at Custer St The average speed on 4th Ave in this same area is 17mph. The samples are a compilation of a weeks’ worth of speed sampling. The samples are in general compliance with the 25-mph speed and speed tables are not currently planned. I alerted the RPD about four wheelers, dirt bikes and drag racing.
