Description

There is no pedestrian cross to get from one side of the sidewalk to the other. There’s a green bike cross, but that is not a pedestrian cross. Many parents cross here with strollers to get from Oregon Hill to Belle/Browns and the downtown library. You can’t see up the belvedere off-ramp bc of the curve of the street and foliage. Cars are speeding off the highway, and the whole thing feels very unsafe and looked-over.

The bike markings indicate a place where its prefered that bikes cross. There is a sidewalk on the north side of 2nd Street. A pedestrian crossing sign will be added to aid in pedestrian visibility in the interim. The Department will be developing a citywide Pedestrian Master Plan.
