Description
This intersection is very dangerous to cross over, the city buses turning from Crutchfield on to Roanoke do not even let pedestrians cross the road. We walk our daughter to school and it is always a dangerous task getting across Roanoke. Not to mention, we have witnessed many accidents at this intersection as people just go entirely too fast down Crutchfield.

Comments
- Staff · May 12, 2025Cityworks ID: 556255
- Staff · May 16, 2025The intersection of W Roanoke St & Crutchfield St has marked crosswalks on all four intersection legs. There are no parked vehicles on Roanoke given the bike lanes thereby enhancing intersection sight distance when entering or crossing from Crutchfield. The DMV crash history for the latest eight-year period (1.1.17 -12.31.24) does not show any reported pedestrian crashes at Roanoke and Crutchfield. Pedestrian crossing warning signs are in each direction on Roanoke as well. Flashing pedestrian lights are a capital expense and is not in the latest adopted Capital Improvement Plan.
