Description
We need a stop sign coming off of the Powhite onto Maplewood. Cars exit onto Maplewood and the elementary school is right there. This morning a car almost hit my wife, dog and myself as it came speeding onto Maplewood. It does not need to be a yield. Make it a stop sign.

- Staff · May 15, 2025DPW must perform engineering studies in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. The intersection of Powhite Pkwy off-ramp and Maplewood Ave does not meet the traffic requirements for an all-way stop. The MUTCD also states STOP signs shall not be used for speed control. A speed table is on Maplewood Ave at the elementary school.
