Description
Stella’s owners are opening a new restaurant on Lafayette which will add even more car and pedestrian traffic. This is already an extremely dangerous intersection and many children live and play on this block. A stop sign or speed bump is desperately needed.

- Staff · May 12, 2025DPW must perform engineering studies in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. The intersection of Lafayette St and Wythe St does not meet the MUTCD traffic requirements for an all-way stop. The average speed on Lafayette St between Monument Ave and W. Franklin St measured at 13mph which is in general compliance with the speed for residential streets and speed tables are not currently planned.
