Description

The four-way stop is frequently ignored southbound on W46th. There is limited visibility due to a retaining wall on the northeast corner of the intersection, with potential for a catastrophic collision if speeding drivers westbound on Reedy & southbound on W 46th both decide to blow the stop sign. Traffic has significantly increased with the construction vehicles & will not lessen once the apartments are occupied. Speed humps SB on 46th/WB on Reedy would provide a physical reminder to slow down.

46th St between Bassett Ave and Forest Hill Ave has all-way stops at Dunston Ave and at Reedy Ave. The average speed on W. 46th St between these two points measured 16 mph. The sample is in general compliance with the 25-mph speed for residential streets and speed tables are not currently planned. Contact the Richmond Police Department (804.646.5100) to report vehicles running stop signs.
