Description

Requesting for a speed bump to be placed on this portion of Barton Ave. My vehicle was hit because people are speeding down this one way road. It is unacceptable for this to occur. There are speed bumps on other parts of this neighborhood. Would really appreciate one here.

The focused approach on speed management in the City’s Neighborhood Traffic Management Program first considers the distance of a free flow street of at least 1200’ in length in a tangent section without traffic signals, existing traffic calming measures or stopped conditions on the major street. Barton Ave between Dove St and Brookland Park Blvd stops at Lancaster, Hooper, Essex and Brookland Park Blvd. The distance between any stop signs measures less than 950’. The average speed for a typical weekday is 12mph in a 25mph zone. Speed tables (bumps) are not planned under these conditions.
