Description
The intersection at Parkwood Ave and Allen St and the stretch of Parkwood between Allen and Meadow is a problem for residents and pedestrians, not to mention other motorists. I've seen several accidents occur at that corner and many more near misses. On one day, there was an accident in the morning and evening. One car jumped the curb, which could have been fatal for pedestrians. Speed humps on Parkwood before Allen and between Allen and Meadow would help to address these safety issues.

Comments
- Staff · April 14, 2025Cityworks ID: 554043
- Staff · April 15, 2025The Fire Marshall does not support speed tables on Parkwood Ave since this is classified as an Urban Collector and carries around 2,000 vehicles a day. The intersection of Parkwood Ave and Allen Ave does not meet the traffic volume requirements for an all-way stop. For an all-way stop, the Department of Public Works (DPW) must perform an engineering study in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. All all-way stops must meet the warrants in the MUTCD. No Parking signs are present on Parkwood Ave on the east leg to enhance intersection sight distance for vehicles approaching Parkwood from Allen.
