Description
There has been a significant increase in traffic/speeding since the improvements at Hermitage + Laburnum. Drivers are detouring and speeding down Wilmington Ave in order to avoid the light, creating extremely hazardous conditions for our neighborhood especially during peak hours. We are asking for the installation of traffic calming measures like speed bumps to protect the families and little ones on our street. Thank you.

- Staff · April 22, 2025Wilmington Ave traffic stops at each intersection between Rosedale Ave and Hermitage Rd. (This means traffic also stops at Lanvale Ave.) The average speeds between the stop signs measured less than 24mph in a residential zone of 25mph. The annual average hourly traffic on Wilmington Ave is around 40 vehicles an hour. The general practice for DPW is to manage traffic in place along public streets in lieu of placing restrictions such as No Left Turn signs or restricting thru traffic. Therefore, speed tables and vehicle restrictions are not currently planned. The traffic and speed data were measured in March 2025. DPW will monitor the improvements at Hermitage Rd and Laburnum Ave intersection and adjust as needed.
