Description

It would be an improvement for bike safety to have some kind of mechanism to allow bikes traveling westbound from the cycle track and turning left at this intersection to go southbound on 2nd St without having to dodge off-ramp traffic. I use this cycle track 4x/week and have bike commuted for years in multiple cities and never felt this unsafe at an intersection. Staring at off-ramp traffic while waiting for a hole in traffic to safely turn left is almost impossible during rush hour.

A bike box is currently installed for cyclist choosing to go south on S 2nd St to be visible to vehicles. Vehicles are to yield to bikes when in the roadway. The signal to continue through the intersection is for both cyclist and drivers.
